Classic country songs with a side dish of naughty, but fun drag queens served alongside 12-hour-smoked beef brisket; welcome to Dicko's Country Spit Roast.
A new dinner and show spectacular landing at the Sunshine Coast's entertainment precinct NightQuarter for a six-month run (the last Thursday of each month), Aussie music's favourite uncle, Ian 'Dicko' Dickson will host the showcase.Much like having the best jukebox tunes at his disposal, Dicko's hand-picked live band The Lazy C's will perform all the hits; from Dolly Parton to Slim Dusty, Kenny Rogers and a whole lot more.
"Our new show has been produced to deliver the maximum amount of cheeky fun and joy to our audiences," beams Dicko, "and let's face it, we could all use a bit of that right now!
Alongside the music will be the beautiful belles of the rodeo The Reverse Cowgirls, a very naughty troupe of drag queens who'll parade a glorious assortment of outrageous costumes and slightly 'saucy' dance routines.
Queen Cowgirl, Sellma Soul will act as Dicko's cheeky co-host harvesting plenty of LOLs as well as performing a couple of songs too.
"It's a great opportunity to collect your mates, have a dig around in your dressing up box and come along and sing along with every song," enthuses Dicko.
"Whether it's 'Jolene', 'The Gambler', 'Rhinestone Cowboy', 'Ring Of Fire' or 'Duncan' expect to be singing your heart out by the end of the night.
"Who knows. . . you might even get a 'Touchdown'!"
The launch event is scheduled for 26 November, followed by a Christmas edition on 17 December. Tickets are now available.
NightQuarter – an ever-evolving festival of flavour and sound in a shipping container playground – will soon rise again this time in Kawana, Sunshine Coast. An opening date is expected soon.
