Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe bring their co-headline The World Tour to Australia this year.

Two of the highest-selling rocks bands in terms of album and ticket sales all time, commanding a global legion of fans and responsible for a swelling catalogue of beloved rock hits, The World Tour will land in stadiums in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this November.

Formed in Sheffield, England, circa 1976, Def Leppard presented themselves as a dominant force in the new wave of British heavy metal, alongside contemporaries like Iron Maiden and Motörhead that came to rule the world of rock during the '80s.

2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees with more than 110 million albums sold worldwide, Def Leppard's line-up has remained unchanged since 1992: Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums).

"The top five shows of our career have been in the last nine months, so that's a big deal," Phil told us in a recent interview that will be published later this month.

"It's insane, scary, having this band being that good, and the production and everything.

"The whole thing was amazing, and you saw the audience react to it. I'm excited about it and I hope the [Australian] fans will be excited when they get to see it."

Now entering their fifth decade of existence, Los Angeles' Mötley Crüe have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, achieved 22 Top 40 mainstream rock hits, and 6 Top 20 pop singles, while their 2019 Netflix movie 'The Dirt' highlighted their music to a new legion of fans.

With original members Nikki Sixx (bass), Tommy Lee (drums), and Vince Neil (vocals), Mötley Crüe's live band now feature John 5 (Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson) on guitar replacing Mick Mars who retired from touring last year (and was embroiled in a legal stoush with the remanning members earlier this year, eventually settling with a severance agreement that will net him a five per cent stake in the group's 2023 tour).

So you better not miss your head-banging practice 'cause this twin bill is crammed with some of the biggest rock classics ever: 'Pour Some Sugar On Me', 'Hysteria', 'Photograph', 'Love Bites' 'When Love And Hate Collide', 'Rock Of Ages', 'Kickstart My Heart', 'Girls, Girls, Girls', 'Dr. Feelgood', 'Home Sweet Home', 'Shout At The Devil', 'Wild Side' and so much more.

Tickets on sale from 12pm (local time) on 8 June.
