Indie rock, noise pop darlings, Deerhoof make their way back to Australia in 2024.
Set to be their first tour down under in ten years, the San Fransisco quartet will headline concerts in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in June."What animal has the biggest head? I, Satomi [Matsuzaki - vocals, bass], hope to see everyone's beautiful heads and bods and mammals with large heads. Peace."
The run of shows will support their 2023 album 'Miracle-Level', which is recorded entirely in Japanese and was also the first time Deerhoof used a recording studio (as opposed to ad-hoc spaces) to produce an album.
'Miracle-Level' was born from a simple, yet powerful observation by the band. "We look at the state of the world and think, 'it'll be a miracle if we survive'."
Deerhoof worked with sound engineer and producer Mike Bridavsky. "They sat me down and performed the entire album from beginning to end," recalls Bridvasky. "I knew we were about to make an amazing record."
