Death From Above 1979 Australia 2025 Tour

Death From Above 1979
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Dance-punk noise rockers, Death From Above 1979 return to Australia for the first time in a decade-plus in 2025.

The Canadian duo of Jesse F. Keeler and Sebastien Grainger – whose last tour was part of the Parklife festival dates in 2011 – will headline gigs in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

"AUSTRALIA 2025! Join us for our triumphant return to the places we ravaged 20 years ago! We're coming to your town to play our debut record from front to back. It's gonna slay."

Known for their relentless live energy and fericoius drumming and searing riffage (think Ratatat meets DZ Deathrays), the run of shows is celebrating the 20th anniversary of DFA 1979's debut album, 'You're A Woman, I'm A Machine'.

Both a cult classic with fans as well as the template for a host of artists to follow, 'You're A Woman, I'm A Machine' features such cuts as 'Romantic Rights', 'Little Girl' and 'Blood On Our Hands', as well as live favourites like 'Black History Month' and 'Sexy Results'.

Keeler and Grainger have maintained a regular stream of new material the last decade, with their most recent album being 'Is 4 Lovers' that contains 'One+One'; while the first third of 2024 saw the pair reimagine three 'You're A Woman, I'm A Machine' tracks: 'Turn It Out', 'Romantic Rights' and 'Going Steady'.

Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 25 October.
