A celebration of alt. country, Americana, folk, psychedelic and bluegrass, boutique event Dashville Skyline is back in 2018 and this year expands to three, full days across the Labour Day long weekend (28-30 September).
The Waifs and C.W. Stoneking headline the first round artist announcement of 17 acts for the fourth instalment of the Hunter Valley festival.
Twenty five years young, The Waifs released a new album, 'Ironbark', last year that delved into dustier, Americana territory. While C.W. first visited Dashville for The Gum Ball back in 2012, in 2018 he'll bring his old-time blues guitar for a raw and profound rare solo performance.
Others to join the 2018 Dashville action include Hat Fitz and Cara, whose marriage of drums and stomping guitar is a must-see, the blues-laced rock of 19-Twenty, the indie rock, country musings of The San Sebastian (featuring brothers Dan and Joel Crannitch) and the high-octane folk rock of The Settlement.
They'll be joined by the raucous blues country of Papa Pilko & The Binrats, returning Skyline hero Davey Craddock, country songstress Tori Forsyth, Melbourne's James Ellis & The Jealous Guys, Perth rockers Railway Bell, old-school rough country duo The Sweet Jelly Rolls, accomplished singer-songwriter and guitarist Cat Canteri, Brisbane's gothic-folk chanteuse Ruby Gilbert, Sydney's songsmith Sam Newton, Hawaiian jazz legends The High Andies and environmentally-conscious songwriter Steel City Sue.
A further announcement of artists to complete the 2018 line-up will be made at the end of July.
The festival isn't just about the music and includes on-site camping, delicious American-inspired food, beer and wine, a vintage market, petting zoo and more. Dashville Skyline is every bit as family friendly as its older brother, The Gum Ball.
