Dashville Skyline 2021 Line-up

William Crighton

Alt. country and roots-based music fans, the 2021 line-up for the Dashville Skyline is choc-full of top-line talent mixed with a slew of young, emerging talent.

From musical legends to modern head-turners, the Dashville Skyline team have curated another outstanding bill for the three-day event in Hunter Valley that lands the Labour Day long weekend (1-3 October).

Set to headline the 2021 instalment are Aussie blues-rock legends The Black Sorrows fronted by Joe Camilleri (Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons). They'll be joined by local Hunter Valley songwriter and a member of the Dashville family William Crighton, who is due to release his third studio album later this year.

"This will be a special one! Come if you can," William says.

Melbourne's singer-songwriter Liz Stringer will join the action having recently released her new record 'First Time Really Feeling', as will Jeff Lang who's considered by many to be Australia's greatest roots guitarist.

The living legends don't stop there with Slim Dusty's Travelling Country Band – Slim's band that played together for his last show in 2003 who have re-formed recently to honour Australia's greatest country superstar – to bring the good times too.

With a stack of recent honours (Best Country Album at 2020 Victorian Music Awards 2020, ARIA Award nominee 2020 – Best Blues & Roots Album – and Australian Music Prize nominee 2020) Tracy McNeil & The GoodLife will also be headed to Dashville Skyline in 2021.

"Well this will be a bit of fun! Thrilled to be playing Dashville Skyline 2021. What a fabulous line-up. Hang onto your dream diaries folks, this cosmic country weekend will be one for the records," Tracy says.

Other notable additions include Icecream Hands, Albi & The Wolves (NZ), Fools, Harmony Byrne, Fenn Wilson, Dan Brodie and Melody Moko.

"I am over-the-doggone-moon to be invited to play Dashville Skyline 2021 in the Hunter Valley for a DAN B-R-O-D-I-E set and also with the awe-inspiring Ben Mastwyk EN MASTWYK & His Million$," Dan Brodie says.

Adds Fenn Wilson (son of revered blues musician Chris Wilson): "So wrapped to be heading up for Dashville Skyline later this year!"

Dashville Skyline is a celebration of alternative country, its birth in America during the '60s-'70s, the culture that surrounds the music, and the evolution that continues to inspire modern-day songwriters.

"Looks like we're going on a road trip this October. Look out NSW, Icecream Hands will be venturing north and joining the stellar line-up just announced for Dashville Skyline 2021!" beams Icecream Hands.
