The 23rd annual Darebin Music Feast presents a carefully curated showcase featuring 85 events across 20 different venues over 8 days to celebrate the culturally diverse community.
With a renewed commitment to welcome music makers and lovers of all ages, over half of the events at this year's Darebin Music Feast are free to attend while nearly a third are open to all ages.
The week kicks off with a massive all-day opening party featuring the talents of Alice Skye, Emma Donovan And The Putbacks, Huntly, Jess Ribeiro, Kee'ahn, Raw Humps, Rebel Yell, The Goon Sax, Tiana Khasi, U-Bahn and more across three stages.
The Feast For Families programme will feature Sounds Exquisite, an interactive sound installation made by Darebin primary school students in collaboration with local arts organisation Playable Streets.
The annual Darebin Music Feast Songwriters’ Award Grand Final returns to Northcote Town Hall on 24 October. One of ten local finalists will take home a prize package of $2,000 cash, studio time and more.
The Closing Party festivities are being handled by Green Noise, an event inspired by sustainable initiatives in the music industry, youth climate strikes and growing environmental activism. Green Noise has been curated by Acacia Coates and Winnie McQuinn, the winners of last year's event producer mentorship programme Amplify, which returns in 2019.
Darebin Music Feast is 8 days of non-stop music celebrating the local community and its exciting live music scene.
