Traditional Irish folk singer-songwriter, Dan McCabe is returning to Australia in 2025.
The native of Naas, County Kildare, who sold-out a number of his 2024 Australian shows, will headline gigs in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne next May."[I] want to wish you all a Merry Christmas," shares Dan. "Massive thanks to everyone who has made the effort to come out and see me at a show this year. It's been a hell of a run!
"Really looking forward to getting back to Australia, last time was so much fun, great turnouts, so look forward to seeing you all again and bring some friends along, it's a lovely little stocking filler as a present, so looking forward to seeing you again Aus! All the best."
A passionate musician from a lineage of Irish folk musicians, it was during the early part of the COVID pandemic that McCabe's musical prowess was unearthed.
He performed a version of Luke Kelly's 'Song For Ireland' as a tribute to healthcare workers battling the pandemic on RTÉ's 'The Sunday Game' earning plaudits from fans and Irish sports icons alike.
After becoming an overnight sensation, appearing on multiple TV shows performing, McCabe was invited to Áras an Uachtaráin by request of President Michael D Higgins where Dan performed 'The Parting Glass' after the Presidential New Year's Speech as a tribute to all the people who had died from COVID-19.
A symbol of Irish heritage and spirit, selling out iconic Irish venues like Vicar Street and the Olympia Theatre, Dan recently released his debut album 'Back To Life'. "So, I've been working on a project, my first studio album, for the last 12 months now and finally, I'm able to share it with the world.
"This is my very first professional studio album. It's called 'Back To Life'. . . I would love for you to hear it.
"The journey I've had while making this music over the last few years has been amazing. From sitting in my bedroom during COVID with a bandy guitar to touring Ireland and around the world to now releasing this album, I can only thank everyone who's supported me along the way. I'm so grateful!
"This album took one year to complete, but to get this point has taken nearly five years. Some of the finest musicians in Ireland worked with the best engineers and producers in one of the best studios (Windmill Lane, Dublin) and together we've poured our hearts into this album.
"I can't wait for people to hear it. . . Always very grateful for the support you show me and can't wait for you to hear these new tracks. Grá Mór 💚."
