Okay, so Daft Punk took some of the fun out of their 'Global Launch Party' in Wee Waa by streaming Random Access MemoriesRandom Access Memories for the world to hear yesterday.
But if you bought a ticket to the event, it's not like you're headed to regional NSW for no reason — you still get a sweet Daft Punk replica helmet, right?
Well, no. A Sony representative confirmed earlier this week that ticket holders will not be given replica helmets, and now the Wee Waa Show Society has announced that they will be handing out 1,000 paper helmets to "local residents only" the morning before the show.
If you happen to be part of our small but dedicated audience of Wee Waa residents, head on down to the pop-up Sony store at 77b Rose Street on Thursday morning to collect your Daft Punk helmet for an official photograph.
Despite what you might think, Wee Waa Show president Brett Dickinson isn't bummed about the way the event is turning out, and still expects more than 4,000 people to show.
"It's hard to have a party on your own when you download a song off the internet," he told the ABC. "If you want to be part of this light and spectacular show that's going to be here on Friday night, it's the place to be."
