Right as the pandemic was closing down interstate borders and the community were finding new ways to entertain themselves from lockdown, veteran Aussie indie act Custard released one of the albums of 2020, 'Respect All Lifeforms'.
"It's been strange; I have to keep reminding myself we released an album [last] year," Custard's drummer, Glenn Thompson told us back in December."We seemed to get a lot more press [for 'Respect All Lifeforms'] because there wasn't much else happening, but then it just disappeared and nothing to remind anybody [about it].
"Normally by about this time with an album you just don't want to listen to it again, so it'll be interesting getting up and playing the songs now."
After a two standalone gigs in Brisbane in early February, the band are gearing up to hit the highways of Australia for a massive 13-date tour that will visit every state and territory (except for NT – sorry guys) from July to September. The band also have festival dates in November at Scene & Heard Festival (Newcastle) and Spring Loaded (Mornington Peninsula).
"Sure, I admit we have pretty much missed the boat on this one and it feels like we are pushing our old sh.t up a rather steep incline," lead singer Dave McCormack says, "but we hope there are enough old bastards out there who will be willing to spend their hard, earned cash to see us play a bunch of songs that are about 30 years old."
As a tasty treat, the band have released a new music video for 'Respect All Lifeforms' rockin' romp 'Couples Fight'.
