Headed to Australia for the first time to play Nines Lives (Brisbane), Brunswick Music Festival (Melbourne) and A Festival Called Panama (Launceston), Brooklyn-based indie rock quartet Crumb have extended their visit down under.
The 'Locket' and 'Ghostride' psychedelic groovers will headline concerts in Gold Coast, Sydney and Wollongong in March. After meeting at university in Boston, Crumb's career to date spans two EPs ('Crumb' in 2016, 'Locket' in 2017) and two albums ('Jinx' in 2019, 'Ice Melt' in 2021).For the 'Ice Melt' project, the band worked with acclaimed producer Jonathan Rado (Father John Misty, The Killers, Alex Cameron). Lead singer Lila Ramani characterises the album as a "return back down to earth", a deeply felt examination of "real substances and beings that live on this planet".
Known for their independent self-discovery converging around ideas that are always shifting and reforming, Crumb play to their strengths: Ramani's songwriting; Bri Aronow's knack for building (dis)affecting soundscapes; the hypnotic grounding of Jonathan Gilad's drums; and Jesse Brotter's distinctive bass playing.
Tickets (non-festival appearances) on sale from 10am (local time) on 13 January.
