Comedian Ciaran Lyons Brings Together Australian Musicians To Raise Awareness For Homeless Kids

Comedian Ciaran Lyons will host Taldumande Concert For Homeless Kids.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

After spending time at a refuge shelter as part of SBS series 'Filthy, Rich And Homeless', comedian and triple j announcer Ciaran Lyons has organised an online concert to raise awareness for homeless children.

"When I finished filming the TV series, I knew I wanted to do more to help Sydney's homeless population, especially keeping young people from the unsafe environment of the streets at night," Ciaran says.

During the filming of the show, Ciaran spent time taking shelter at a Taldumande Youth Services Crisis Refuge, who provide accommodation and services for vulnerable and homeless children and young people aged 12 to 21.

He has since become an ambassador for Taldumande. "I am honoured to become an ambassador for Taldumande Youth Services," Ciaran says, "and I hope the concert will give Australians an insight into the challenges faced by homeless children and young people, while also raising much needed funds for Taldumande."

To be hosted by Big Top Sydney's Instagram account (@bigtop_sydney) on Sunday 28 June at 4pm EST, Ciaran is bringing together a host of Australia's finest indie acts including Lime Cordiale, Mashd N Kutcher, Lisa Mitchell and Boo Seeka.

The concert will also host Powderworks, a band formed by Max, a young man who has rebuilt his life with the help of Taldumande Youth Services after becoming homeless in his teens.
