A musician simply not intent on slowing down, Colin Hay returns to Australia in 2024 with a band of world-class players.
2022 saw Hay release his 15th solo album 'Now And The Evermore', tour Australia and UK in solo mode as well as join Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band on their US tour. While the music of Colin Hay is soaked in nostalgia, the Scottish-Australian artist is remaining ever relevant with a host of contemporary acts covering the iconic Men At Work classic 'Down Under' (which received the esteemed Billions Award, marking one billion streams, last year).
Electronic producer Luude remixed 'Down Under' in 2021 (Hay re-recording the vocal take for the official release) bringing a new audience to the Aussie classic, while last year King Stingray sung the iconic tune in Yolngu Matha.
Also in 2022, triple j darlings Lime Cordiale recorded the track 'Colin', a tribute that features a cameo from Hay.
After receiving APRA's Ted Albert Award for outstanding services to Australian music earlier this year, Hay returns to Australia next June-July for a run of headline shows (Geelong, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong) and an appearance at Big Red Bash.
Colin's band features musicians who are legends in their own right: from Cuba, SanMiguel Perez (guitar, tres, vocals), Yosmel Montejo (bass, vocals) and Jimmy Branly (drums).
Rounding out the front line of the band is Peru's Cecilia Noël (percussion, vocals) and Grammy Award-winning Scheila Gonzalez (keyboard, flute, sax, vocals) whose family hails from Guatemala.
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 25 October.
