An act who defy categorisation, Clown Core will make their Australian live debut this winter.
Already revealed on the Dark Mofo 2025 programme, the masked duo (speculated to be drummer Louis Cole of the indietronica, jazz-funk band Knower and Sam Gendel, a saxophonist and frequent Cole collaborator) from Nevada will also headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth inn June.Clown Core first emerged in 2008 when they created a YouTube channel uploading the clip 'Surreal Cereal' that quickly garnered them a cult underground following. Although not touring until 2023,
Clown Core have released three albums: 'Clown Core' (2010), 'Toilet' (2018) and 'Van' (2020) as well as an EP, 2021's '1234', all of which have collected millions of streams.
A fusion of jazz, grindcore, avant-garde and electronica that creates an absurdist mayhem soundscape, Clown Core found a mainstream-leaning audience when their music videos from the 'Toilet' album (filmed and performed in a portable toilet) were also shown on Adult Swim's 'Smalls' programme.
Despite being an anonymous duo who easily sit in the weird basket, Clown Core made their Coachella debut last year. With a string of ridiculous-titled songs ('Google Your Own Death', 'Diarrhea Inferno Welfare Burrito' and 'The Area 51 Snack Bar Sucks'), witness the mayhem that is Clown Core when they tour in June.
Tickets on sale from 1pm (local time) on 17 April.
