Circa Waves 2023 Australia Tour

Circa Waves tour Australia May 2023.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

'T-Shirt Weather' rockers, Circa Waves will headline their very first tour of Australia this May.

After venturing down under previously as guests of The 1975 and The Wombats, but not since 2016, Circa Waves – who released their new album 'Never Going Under' on Friday – will play concerts in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

"Australia! This might be a complete surprise but WE'RE COMING TO YOU, it's been way too long, we're back this May for a headline tour," shares the band.

'Never Going Under' is the follow-up to Circa Waves' 2020 album 'Sad Happy'.

"'Never Going Under' speaks to that uniquely modern phenomenon of genuinely not knowing what type of world our kids are going to find themselves in in 30 years," frontman Kieran Shuddall says.

"Physically, environmentally, politically we are completely in the unknown. That scares us all, but ultimately we know we can never give up on the future because how can you?

"The songs on the album are written differently from the previous work we've put out. They are written from the perspective of my son and also from my own current experience of the climate today.

"Circa Waves has always had a certain world view," he continues, "but now it's through that lens of being a father and still not knowing what the hell is going on.

"'Never Going Under' is a snapshot of the fear we all feel today and the resilience we will need to get through it."

Tickets on sale from 11am (local time) on 20 January.
