CherryFest Gets Bigger

Money For Rope
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The Powder Monkeys have been confirmed as the headline local act for CherryFest; Sweden's Blues Pills and locals Money For Rope, The Sweethearts, Dead River and Sheriff have also been added to the bill.

Cherry Bar co-owner and booker James Young talked through the addition: "With Tim Hemensley tragically passing away a decade ago now, I never thought we'd ever see The Powder Monkeys play again, but The Tote hosted the gig of the year [for Hemensley's anniversary] and we got to see John Nolan and Timmy Jack Ray joined by a collection of lead singers paying homage to the incredible legacy of this incredible tough-as-nails pub rock band.

"Now, the band has agreed to do it one more time and this time, absolutely nail it, with just two or three amazing guest singers. This is the best news ever about any Festival I’ve ever hosted or even been to. The Powder Monkeys last hurrah at CherryFest in AC/DDC Lane! What a coup."
