Charlie-Moon Meader and his band of passionate musos shared R&B hits of the '90s recently at the Ellington Jazz Club (10 November).
Having heard Charlie’s recently released EP, ‘View From The Moon’, I was keen to see him in action.
Performing hits such as '99 Problems', 'Let Me Love You', 'Ride' and '21 Questions' with vigour and passion, and adding his dance moves into the mix, he and his band had the club on their feet.
Charlie-Moon’s first, original EP ‘View From The Moon’ was released in February this year and was recorded at Crank Recording Studios in Perth. Fresh out of WAAPA, Charlie has written and recorded a mix of originals that leave wanting to hear more.
The first track ‘Till I Get Old’ features a Latin piano rhythm and mixes it with a funk and pop vibe. While the song ‘In The Liquor’, written to inspire us through hard times, features a funk groove with a gospel choir adding backing vocals throughout the song.
The final track, 'Love So High', includes rap, and is rich with funk and soul grooves.
Check out this young soul at a gig near you.
Charlie-Moon Meader returns to Ellington Jazz Club 1 December for the Nineties & Noughties pop, R&B and hip hop hits party.
