Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Changing Tides Festival enjoyed a solid, sold-out debut last summer in Kiama (NSW) and now it returns for a second round this December.

The triumphant return brings a fresh wave of world-class live music and local flavour to the stunning shores of Kiama, with laid-back, quintessential small-town vibes at its heart. It’s a true celebration of local culture, community spirit, and South Coast energy.

There’ll be food stalls brimming with fresh local producers, a curated selection of craft beers and wines, and a round-up of big acts and home-grown legends.

So who exactly will be gracing the stage at the festival? Last year’s inaugural event brought the likes of Spacey Jane, G Flip, PNAU and more.

Well, first up, their legacy is undeniable and they’ve dominated airwaves and festival line-ups for years – it’s Hilltop Hoods. They know how to bring that unmatched energy and musical mastery to the stage, and they’ve scored ten ARIA Awards, six #1 albums, they were the #1 most streamed artist on Spotify for two years running, they’ve sold out arena tours. . . And now they’ll take over Changing Tides as headliners.

They’ve just wrapped up a whirlwind international tour – where they lit up a slew of sold-out shows across North America, UK and Europe – and now Aussie psych-surf-rock six-piece Ocean Alley are back to close out 2024 with a bang. They’ll bring their signature, soulful swagger, stacked harmonies and infectious melodies.

Musical boundary-pusher Tones And I has come a long way since her days as a busker from the Mornington Peninsula. She presents pop music with distinct and unforgettable anthems, and has shattered records, racked up accolades, sold out tours and more.

Joining the above for the weekend’s festivities will be Aussie brother duo Lime Cordiale, magnetic pop wunderkind Ruel, pop princess Peach PRC, and the experimental, alt-pop melodies of Mallrat.

But that’s not all – rounding out the sun-drenched weekend will be Old Mervs, Pacific Avenue, The Terrys, Blu DeTiger, South Summit, Annie Hamilton, Lola Scott, Chloe Dadd, The Blssm and more. . . Plus the surprise of a return act joining the bill.

Tickets go on sale 25 September at 10am.

Changing Tides Festival is on at Kiama Showgrounds (South Coast NSW) 14-15 December.
