If 'mischief, magic and mayhem' are you spirt animals then you're going to find yourself a slice of heaven alongside the Hawkesbury River (NSW) that you'll never want to leave at Return To Rio.
Welcome to Carl Cox and Eric Powell's ultimate weekend getaway (3-5 November, 2017) from the city flowing with cheeky fun, drum & bass pilates and roving martians that's just a 90-minute drive from Sydney. Incredible.
Alongside their traditional 12-hour-long sets of funk, soul, disco and classic house Carl and Eric this year will be joined by iconic 12-piece acid-jazz band Incognito, known for their hits ‘Always There’ and ‘Don’t You Worry About A Thing’.

“Return To Rio is the closest thing in Australia to Bestival and we had such a wicked time at the event last year that I told Ricky as soon as we came off stage that we’d love to come back this year," Carl Cox says.
"We’re going to be there for the full weekend of fun and I can’t wait to get amongst it.”
Other musical additions in 2017 include Hot Creations and Emerald City head honcho Lee Foss, Fabio and Grooverider (the Godfathers of drum & bass and legends of modern music); Bedouin – the hottest DJ duo on the white isle this season – will make their debut down under at Return To Rio; fellow All Day I Dream alumni Hoj is primed to continue; complementing these techno and soulful house maestros is Berlin-based &ME.
Completing the bill of international talent is Tel Aviv’s Khen, whose house grooves and contemporary techno will accompany long-standing Return To Rio resident and dance music legend Mr C aka The Shamen frontman behind ‘Ebeneezer Good’ and ‘Move Any Mountain’.

With this year’s theme ‘outta space’, it is not just the music that will be taking guests to another dimension. Houseboats turned spaceships will be taking wannabe astronauts on a voyage of discovery like no other down the Hawkesbury.
A giant jumping cushion will fling you to the moon and back, while the water park will propel you to another orbit. Glitter space stations, drum & bass pilates, 3D mapping, cosmic sound and lighting and roving martians will leave you in a spin and a few rounds of crazy golf will send you gaga. Throw some water skiing sessions into the mix and the mind will be playing all sorts of tricks.
A Note From Event Organisers
The ultimate weekend away has the basics nailed too; a queue-free bar stocked with delicious drinks and mixologists on hand to knock you up a cocktail; tasty morsels to eat from a selection of Sydney’s best food trucks; clean, flushing, toilets and hot showers. On the accommodation front, Del Rio Riverside Resort has riverside air-conditioned cabins to rest those laurels along with drive-up camping spots among the friendly kangaroos while Rainbow Tipis and Simple Pleasures Camping will be adding a touch of glamour to the campgrounds.
Ricky Cooper, Return To Rio's Chief Mischief Maker, Return to Rio comments: “Each year we take it up a notch and this year is no different, expect more fancy dress shenanigans and random acts of kindness from those Riopian rascals than ever before.
"We have gone all out in terms of production, sound, food and music. In amongst three stages of music, pop-up parties and otherworldly happenings we’re hosting our first ever Speed Dating event where all those flying solo are guaranteed to meet their match.”
Not content with throwing Australia’s best-loved bash, Ricky will be taking to the decks alongside other Rio rockstars Tristan Case, Murat Kilic, Robbie Lowe B__A, Start:Cue and more. Fellow festival friends, Electric Gardens will be joining forces to host a hidden disco broadcasting it live around the world from the shores of Del Rio.
A 90-minute drive from Sydney… You. Don’t. Want. To. Miss. This.
