Calling all bands and musicians who are ready to rumble. And also win a trip to Bali. Say what?
It’s correct, Hotel Komune are running a battle-of-the-bands style competition as part of their Black Spiced Sundays where the last man (or band) standing wins an overseas trip to Bali.
The first of four weekly heats starts June 15; play a selection of covers and originals and winners will be chosen on crowd reaction.
Guidelines
1. Any type of musician/ band/ vocalist can enter (four-piece max).2. You will need to play 6 covers PLUS you can perform four originals (or songs of your choice).
3. Arrival time 3:15pm for sound check and registration. Komune will provide amps, speakers, mics, mic stands. You are welcome to bring any special requests as long as they are compatible.
4. Comp kicks off at 4:45pm with two acts vs each other. Act one then act two followed by a DJ while winners are decided.
5. Winners will be chosen on crowd reaction primarily along with entertainment, musical skill and overall performance.
6. Two acts will go head-to-head each Sunday. Competition will run the following dates: Heat 1 June 15; Heat 2 June 22; Heat 3 June 29; Heat 4 July 6; Semi Final July 13; Grand Final July 27.
