Majella has been part of the scenestr “scene” for over 20 years. She has interviewed some of the biggest names in the music industry but the size of the star doesn’t matter as much as the quality of the conversation.

The Byron Spirit Festival 2018 was three days (20-22 April) filled with workshops, talks, classes, health and wellness sessions, demonstrations, delicious food and quirky market stalls, music and lots of chilled vibes.

Unfortunately, the weather turned wild on Sunday and the Cavanbah Centre outdoor areas were flooded.

As much as possible was moved indoors or relocated to a suitable space, but some activities and performances had to be cancelled.  But regardless, the crowd silent-disco-danced on.

There was a crazy, colourful double decker bus that transported attendees between the various venues and the centre of Byron and added an element of magical mayhem to the event.

Every way you turned, there were people in yoga pants or wearing feathers in their hair, sipping on kombucha and chai tea and smiling, chatting, moving or dancing.

This year’s theme was ‘We Are The Mandala’ and focused on co-creation and the concept of human design and connection to the natural world.

This theme was enthusiastically explored through art, displays, movement, sound and of course, adapting to the unpredictable weather conditions.
