Now in its third year, Byron Bay Guitar Festival (BBGF) continues to be a guitar lover's nirvana with Chris Tamwoy, Peter Northcote, Claude Hay and Nathan Cavaleri slated to perform as well as host seminars in 2019.
Set to take place 12-13 October, BBGF will be headlined by punk-rock royalty Frenzal Rhomb, guitar wizard Harts and intergalactic rockers The Delta Riggs (whose third album will be released in September).
BBGF has something for all lovers of music, with 20+ diverse live performances across 2 stages as well as a guitar market showcasing some amazing instruments and craftsmanship from the world’s favourite manufacturers and Australia’s finest luthiers.
There will be a host of workshops and seminars presented by artists and manufacturers on both days, which are sure to consume many hours for guitar enthusiasts. “The guitar is alive and well,” Festival Director Nick Sergi says.
“We are celebrating an instrument that has truly revolutionised music for over a century. In the digital age of music, we are still seeing the guitar as the principle songwriting tool for a new generation of artists.
“This year we are returning bigger and better again, with a diverse line-up that recognises both the legends and the new wave of guitar heroes.”
In previous years, the festival has showcased the likes of the late Phil Emanuel, Ash Grunwald, British India, Kevin Borich, Dallas Frasca, Hussy Hicks, Tash Wolf and Tai Farrant.
