Just when you thought the Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015 drip-fed line-up was running out of steam, organisers have returned with yet another jam-packed bill of international heavyweights and local favourites, including Hozier, The Waterboys, Switchfoot, Hunter Hayes and more.
Held over the five day Easter LONG Weekend, the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm just outside of Byron Bay turns into a green of rock, reggae, blues, roots, soul, funk and everything in between. Adding to the already stellar line-up featuring Lenny Kravitz, The Black Keys, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, and more, Festival Director Peter Noble says that the sixth line-up announcement for Bluesfest 2015 is a watershed year for the music festival. "We are now putting the final slathering on the 2015 Bluesberry cake, with a few more surprises up our sleeve – this just may be our best serving yet."
Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Hozier is the headline for the sixth announcement, set to delight audiences on 2 April. At only 24, he accumulated a strong underground following through Spotify, YouTube and radio success, gathering momentum and rapidly burgeoning into international stardom. His 2013 debut EP, ‘Take Me To Church’ released later in Australia has been nominated for Song Of The Year at the 2015 Grammys and is a world-wide hit, currently sits at No. 2 on Australian and New Zealand Charts.
