Bruce Springsteen is pretty much an honorary Australian at this point.
Of course, with a name like 'Bruce', he was always going to fit in well here, but what really separates The Boss from other overseas acts is his commitment to pandering to Australian audiences paying tribute to Australia's musical heritage.
Springsteen has been in the country for the last two weeks, and in that time, he's managed to cover a slew of Aussie classics.
The most common one, of course, is The Saints' 'Just Like Fire Would', which features on his recent 'High Hopes' LP (Springsteen first played it in Brisbane last year). But we've also heard AC/DC's 'Highway To Hell' in Perth and Melbourne (in the latter city, Bruce was joined on-stage by Eddie Vedder); in Sydney, Bruce treated Allphones Arena to his renditions of INXS' 'Don't Change' and The Easybeats' 'Friday On My Mind'.
With a few shows left on the Aussie tour schedule, it seems unlikely he's used up all his tricks — we'll update this page with more Aussie Bruce goodness as it happens.
