Steve Smyth has rescheduled his national tour after an incident left him with a broken jaw.
On Tuesday evening, singer-songwriter Steve Smyth was involved in an incident which left him with a broken jaw after he was allegedly assaulted by two men on Enmore road in Newtown.
While on his way home with his brother, Steve allegedly witnessed an altercation and suffered a broken jaw after attempting to defuse the situation. Steve is currently recovering from surgery at Sydney’s RPA hospital. His brother Jake, owner of popular bar and burger joint 'Mary’s', has said that Steve is sore, but in good spirits. The matter is now being investigated by the Newtown Police.
Steve is currently in the middle of his 50-date 'Exits' album tour and will be forced to reschedule some of the remaining dates. At this stage doctors are unsure of exact recovery time, estimating anywhere between two to six weeks.
An incredible performer and vibrant member of the music community, Steve is well known for his gentle and cheerful character. This sad news is made even sadder by the fact that he was wheeled into surgery on his birthday.
Refunds will be handled through the show's ticketing partner. At this stage, Steve's performances at the following locations are canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. Shows not listed will still be going ahead.
