Brisbane's Pub Choir In Shock After Receiving Personalised Message From Kate Bush For Their 'Running Up That Hill' Rendition

Pub Choir covered Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

After her mega classic 'Running Up That Hill' ('RUTH') featured in the newest season of 'Stranger Things', Kate Bush has enjoyed another surge in popularity with the 1985 banger having spent the last four weeks at #1 on the ARIA singles chart.

The notoriously reclusive Bush has surprised Brisbane's Pub Choir by reaching out to them via her label EMI with a personalised letter.

'Dear Brisbane Pub Choir,' wrote Bush. 'I've been so busy that I've only just had the chance to watch you all singing 'RUTH'. It's utterly, utterly wonderful! I love it so much!

'Thank you everyone. You sing it really beautifully. I'm incredibly touched by your warmth and all your smiling faces. Thank you!

'With lots of love, Kate.'

As you would expect, Pub Choir are joyously ecstatic to receive such a compliment.

"KATE BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cancel all your plans. Quit your job. Throw all your books in the bin. Just sit down a minute and get a load of this.

"Life as we know it is over, and this email is all that remains. We really did that, Brisbane."
