Brisbane's Princess Theatre Celebrates 1st Birthday With A Mega Party

Brisbane's Princess Theatre hosts its 1st Birthday Party on 4 November, 2022.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Brisbane's Princess Theatre has enjoyed a successful first year hosting the likes of Meg Mac, Baker Boy, Matt Corby, Julia Jacklin, Collar, King Gizzard And The Wizard Lizard, Hermitude, Amyl & The Sniffers, The Church, Beddy Rays, and The Paper Kites alongside many, many more.

Queensland's oldest-standing theatre and newest home for live music and performing arts, Princess Theatre will mark its first birthday with a party on 4 November headlined by Brisbane indie lords BUGS, who have been dubbed The Darlings Of The Princess after performing two headline shows at the venue.

Gold Coast surf-rockers Peach Fur will play their first live set since releasing their debut album 'Sun Rays', and change-maker Jaguar Jonze will perform an epic live show with her full band, on the back of her powerful BIGSOUND keynote last week.

"GM Brisbane. It's spring, the mags are swoopin', I'm sneezing heaps and we're announcing our last home-town show of the year with legends Peach Fur and Jaguar Jonze to celebrate Princess Theatre's 1st birthday," shares BUGS.

Event organisers have two more artists they'll reveal on the line-up in the coming weeks. "Fasten your party hat, whack the piñata and rip into the party bags, we're celebrating ONE YEAR since coming out of the cradle and into the world as Meanjin/ Brisbane's newest home for live music and the arts!" shares Princess Theatre.

"The rambunctious BUGS, blissful Peach Fur, and powerhouse Jaguar Jonze will help us blow out the candles and perhaps treat us to some special birthday surprises, and the QUIVR DJs will be on deck duties in the courtyard, ensuring the good times never stop."

Coinciding with the birthday party will be the official launch of Princess Theatre Merchandise (shirts and tote bags), designed by local artist and Princess bartender Shani Finch, as well as the launch of Princess Theatre's Pale Ale, made in collaboration with Brisbane brewers Green Beacon.

Tickets are on sale.
