Brisbane's Newest Club Is Deluxe

Deluxe Nightclub, Brisbane
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Brisbane's newest club venue, Deluxe, has opened in Fortitude Valley.

Deluxe's offering is eclectic, with nights as diverse as DnB, old-school rave and grass roots Aussie hip hop — with the club actively looking for promoters with fresh ideas.

Barely a month old, one of Deluxe's first nights was a celebration of the life of DJ Edwin, Brisbane hero who was a long-time resident at Rockafellas (same operators) barely 30 metres up Brunswick Street. The old-school dance theme continues on June 8 with a revisitation of the A-Team's banging '4 To The Floor' featuring Jen-E, Danny Boy, Miss Tracy, J Frantik, Scott Walkere and MC Spitboy. Look out for old-school memorabilia giveaways including Advent'jah posters tickets and stickers.

This Saturday, State Of Mind (NZ) and MC Woody lay down their 'Eat The Rich' LP tour (quality local supports) represent after a venue change.

The venue occupies the old Chopstix Arcade, although you'd never know it. This author had to go in and out three times and swear low oaths before accepting the reality as fact. The transformation is clean and extreme.
