With previous headliners including The Bennies, The Meanies, The Bezerker, Astriaal, King Parrot, Clowns and Area 7, Brisbane's Dead Of Winter Festival is a favourite of metal, rock, punk and ska fans.
And the festival will return in 2018 for its ninth edition, expanding to two venues with the inclusion of The Tivoli Theatre after the sell-out at the Jubilee Hotel last year.
"After selling out the Jubilee Hotel in 2017 we knew we had to expand the event," Dead Of Winter Festival head Carolyn Bedford says, "but we still wanted to keep the intimate vibe of the festival, so this year we have added two stages at The Tivoli [Theatre].
"It was the perfect choice because it is only 300 metres from the Jubilee [Hotel] and a much loved Brisbane venue. It opens up the size and scope of artists we can stage and will be a big step up for the event.
"Metal will also now be moved out of the upstairs room at the Jube onto a larger stage. Join us on the journey, will be our best yet."
In a positive move aimed at bridging the gender gap across festival offerings, Dead Of Winter Festival last year showcased 40 per cent of total acts with at least one member identifying as female or non-binary. Applications for local bands to join the line-up are now open (click here to apply).
Not stopping at just music, the festival also delivers quality burlesque and horror cabaret acts each year as part of it's Freak Show Alley with added alt-stalls and food trucks making it one of the social days of the year in Brisbane.
Tickets go on sale for the annual heavy music and arts festival Monday 5 March through Ticketmaster, with the first announce coming soon.
