'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

Brisbane blues, stoner, rock festival Mojo Burning will return in 2018 for a fifth instalment taking over Hamilton Hotel 14 April.

With the first line-up announce due later this month, festival organiser Christian Tryhorn says of the Burn: "It's pretty cool to be looking down the barrel of our fifth Mojo Burning.

"What started as a ploy to unite the underground touring band scene has turned into its own beast with crowds growing with each instalment.

"We've added a band comp this year, a dedicated psych-stoner space and are in chats with a bunch of headliners to make this our biggest Burn yet. It's my favourite day of the year outside of Xmas; come get among it with us."

The event has previously hosted such legends as Nick Oliveri, Bob Log III, Gay Paris, Hobo Magic, Born Lion, Jackson Firebird, Lachy Doley, Frank Sultana & the Sinister Kids and many more.
