Brisbane is lucky enough to have a music scene rich with female artists, it’s just sometimes hard to see them through the beards and sweaty flannel.
Enter Brisbabes; a brand new quarterly event to shower love and affection on all the musical ladies in this fair city. It starts this evening with MKO Sun to be joined by Gabriella Cohen and OK Badlands.
We asked them to do our job by interviewing each other. So grab a coffee and sit back and enjoy with us.

If you could re-do the soundtrack for any film, which film would you choose?We'd do trap remixes of all the songs on 'Cool Runnings'.
If you could build a house anywhere in the world, where would you build it?
Next to a discount store, so I can complain about how cheap my neighbours are.
If you could jam with any band, which band would it be?
Snarky Puppy. They're incredible.
If you could play one show dressed by any designer, which designer would it be?
Bob Mackie – who wouldn't want to dress like Cher onstage at least once?
If you could speak to one species for a day, which species would it be?
Birds. So I can find out what they heck they're yelling at each other at 6am.

Your favourite place in the world and why?Portugal because I keep dreaming of it.
Apparently there's water on Mars. If you moved there and became the president, what would be your first decree?
To encourage everyone to grow their own tobacco.

Vanilla.
A female musician that has inspired you?
Edith Piaf.

'White Album' - The Beatles. 'Loaded' - The Velvet Underground. 'Family Tree' - Nick Drake.

What inspired you for your new film clip, 'Black Seaweed'?'Black Seaweed' was inspired by a nightmare I had in which these three huge, ominous tree-monsters arose slowly from a lake and descended on me.
Who do you view as a female role model for women in music?
Bjork. She is fearless, beautiful and the ultimate artist.
What is your idea of success?
Working hard to live your dreams, contributing something meaningful to the universe, never stop creating.
What is your dream live show?
Having a full orchestra at my disposal and the budget to create some incredible visuals and sets.
Who is your dream producer you would love to collaborate with?
I'd love to make an album with Timbaland or Cornelius.
