Back in 2017 for its fourth instalment, annual rock, blues and roots event Mojo Burning is brimming with swampy, sweaty, radical goodness, and will once more bunker down at the Hamilton Hotel in Brisbane on 25 March.
The first announcement is fronted by Lepers & Crooks, Chase The Sun, The Blackwater Fever, Cheap Fakes, Transvaal Diamond Syndicate and recent Australian Independent Music Award winner (Best Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter) Mike Elrington.

With a truly national line-up, Mojo Burning aims to provide a positive, cultural force, uniting genre acts who independently and without mainstream help achieve success through working hard, touring hard and playing hard.
The next instalment will also include a Southern BBQ/ muscle car outdoor pre-party, introducing extra elements often aesthetically aligned with the aforementioned genres. “We started Mojo Burning out of necessity,” festival organiser Christian Tryhorn of Beats Cartel says.
“I was touring constantly with my band and coming across so many radical bands who were basically receiving no press or publicity in the wider industry.

“It’s like there was a forgotten series of tour highways off the modern, mainstream radar. The festival has now grown its own legs and is ever-evolving, but we still try and stay true to the ethos of supporting hard touring and hard-playing bands in an ‘all killer no filler’ approach.”
