With the popularity of vinyl records rising again amongst music lovers, Lust for Life Gallery in Fortitude Valley are proud to present the Boss Sounds: Vinyl Revolution exhibition.
DJ, radio announcer, vinyl collector, musician and local legend Viktor Huml will display a cross-section of his collection, inviting Brisbane to experience the world of vinyl.
The display will principally be LP covers of different music styles and trends including ska, punk, new wave, glam, hardcore, reggae, surf, novelty records, rockabilly, mod, psychobilly, 2Tone, dub and soul. Viktor aims to give visitors an appreciation of the art of “crate digging”, or searching for records. Boss Sounds: Vinyl Revolution will inspire people to enjoy the pleasure of listening to and looking for records.
The opening night and two Saturday afternoons will feature DJs playing the greatest tunes from the underground alongside incredible unknowns — all of whom have made it onto record. Crate diggers and record sellers will also have the opportunity to participate at the Lust For Life Mini Record Fair with Vinyl DJs on Saturday 26 January.
The exhibition launches on Thursday 10 January from 7pm – 9pm at Lust For Life located at 176 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley.
