After Bobby Womack introduced Damon Albarn as "Damon Osbourne" at the Q Awards last October, we probably should have seen this coming.

But it's still shocking news that singer Bobby Womack has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member told The Sun that the diagnosis came after he began having difficulty remembring his songs and the names of people he's worked with. Albarn produced Womack's last album, The Bravest Man In The Universe, and also worked with him on the last two Gorillaz albums.

"It's not bad yet but will get worse," Womack said. "How can I not remember songs I wrote? It's frustrating ... The most embarrasing thing is I'll be ready to announce Damon [Albarn] and can't remember his last name."
