One of the godfathers of underground rock, US singer-songwriter and guitarist-bandleader Bob Mould returns to Australia in 2024.
The first shows down under since 2012 for the former Husker Du and Sugar frontman, Mould will headline concerts in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this November-December.After a ten-year run with hardcore punks Husker Du (that produced six studio albums including the Mould-penned hits 'Makes No Sense At All', 'Something I Learned Today' and 'New Day Rising'), Mould forged the first part of his solo career from 1988-1991.
This period netted two solo Mould albums: 'Workbook' and 'Black Sheets Of Rain' (the former featuring arguably Mould's biggest solo hit 'See A Little Light' as well as 'Sunspots' and 'Wishing Well'; the latter featuring the single 'It's Too Late').
Mould also co-founded Singles Only Label with Coyote Records label founder Steve Fallon, the pair releasing material from the likes of Daniel Johnston, Grant Lee Buffalo, Moby, and Morphine from 1989 to 1994.
Bob went on to form Sugar in 1992, enjoying his most commercial success with their debut album 'Copper Blue' featuring such hits as 'If I Can't Change Your Mind' and 'A Good Idea'.
Now with 15 solo albums to his credit and supports with Foo Fighters and The Hold Steady, Bob Mould remains a relevant force in indie music as well as music industry stalwart honoured by the likes of Dave Grohl and Spoon's Britt Daniels.
Tickets on sale from 9am AEST on 12 April.
