Bob Geldof Australia 2025 Tour

Bob Geldof
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The remarkable career of Irish singer-songwriter and social disruptor, Bob Geldof returns to Australia for a special run of shows celebrating the 40th anniversary of the legendary Live Aid concert.

The tour also marks the 50th anniversary of The Boomtown Rats, the '70s-'80s new wave band Geldof originally managed before becoming the lead singer; they were also the first Irish band and first new wave band to have a UK and Australian #1 record.

Billed as An Evening with Bob Geldof: Songs and Stories from an Extraordinary Life, Bob will visit Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Hobart, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth next March-April.

With fans promised 'an evening of inspiration, music, and intimate storytelling' alongside multimedia presentations, Geldof will perform acoustic performances from his vast back catalogue as well as engaging with compelling anecdotes from his music, political, media and business activism.

"Growing up, we all admired Bob – not just for his music but for his unparalleled impact on the world stage, from rallying a global response to famine in Ethiopia to his enduring efforts in global justice. This tour is more than a musical event; it's a source of inspiration for all," says Dustin Lockett of The Entertainment Lab.

Outside his music achievements, Bob has lived a vivid existence; from the slaughterhouse worker writing songs amongst the gutted cattle to a heavy duty road digger operator, Arctic gold miner, Canadian illegal immigrant, underground newspaper writer, and English teacher in fascist Spain.

Tickets on sale from 1pm (local time) on 7 November.
