Bluesfest have kicked off their 30th year in style, with a massive first artist announcement that is headlined by exclusive Australian performances by Jack Johnson and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals.
Also making an appearance over the 2019 Easter long weekend will be Aussie country queen Kasey Chambers, American folk-blues musician Ray Lamontagne, New York jazz-fusion band Snarky Puppy and Alabama soul train St Paul & The Broken Bones (exclusive Australian show).
The stellar line-up continues with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, who will be playing their final shows in the lead-up to George Clinton's May 2019 retirement from live performance.
Australian artists haven't been forgotten either, with Tex Perkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Clapton and Colin Hay (plus many more) set to play the five-day festival (18-22 April, 2019).
Crowd favourite Kasey Chambers will be celebrating an anniversary of her own, with 2019 marking the 20th anniversary of her iconic debut album 'The Captain'; she will be giving a special first-time performance of the entire album, track by track.
Other artists travelling from overseas include Bluesfest newcomer Kurt Vile, Vintage Trouble, Keb' Mo' and Arlo Guthrie.
Heading up the comedy division is the team from Rockwiz along with the Rockwiz Orkestra, who will be running a live show on Easter Saturday and Sunday.
Once again, festival-goers will have the chance to camp for the full five days of the festival at the lovely Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just outside of Byron Bay.
Festival and camping tickets are now on sale. Bluesfest organisers expect the 2019 event to sell out in advance. Click here for more information.
