Bluesfest rounds out its 2020 line-up with a final announcement of 12 artists in addition to the 57 already appearing at the festival this Easter.
Leading the final charge is all-time Bluesfest favourite Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue for his sixth go-round at the festival. Part Jimi Hendrix, part James Brown and all New Orleans, Troy 'Trombone Shorty' Andrews is a singular artist who puts his own spin on traditional American musical forms.Debuting brand-new music from their forthcoming tenth studio album at this year’s Bluesfest is the world-renowned nine-piece Melbourne funk/ soul powerhouse, The Bamboos. Celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band, The Bamboos are primed to rock the stage this Easter.
Also onboard are Ray Beadle with an acoustic set, the 'mad professor of song' Henry Wagons, Australian singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso Daniel Champagne, blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Nathan Cavaleri, plus Little Georgia and Round Mountain Girls.
"Then there’s special one-off performances by local blues legends Pacey, King & Doley, as well as Ellis Hall, The Clarence Bekker Band And Friends presents: 'Sensational! – The Ultimate Musical Journey'. This final artist announcement for Bluesfest 2020 is a blues and roots beauty," Festival Director, Peter Noble OAM says.
The sweet caboose of this steaming blues train is formed by 2019 busking comp winner Electrik Lemonade and 2019 busking comp grommet winner Palm Valley.
Bluesfest 2020 (Byron Bay) is on 9-13 April.
