One of Australia's largest, free music festivals, 2022 marks the 21st anniversary for Gold Coast event Blues On Broadbeach.
With The James Morrison Motown Experience, Robben Ford, Mia Dyson and Emma Donovan & The Putbacks already announced, Blues on Broadbeach have released a second line-up bursting with talent.A voice that can stop a nation, renowned blues singer Karise Eden will make her Blues On Broadbeach debut launching her new album 'Into the Black'.
"For my performance, I will be backed by a full live band for the first time in what feels like forever!" Karise says.
"I am also thrilled to be launching my forthcoming album 'Into the Black' at the festival, which Blues On Broadbeach attendees will get a full exclusive live preview. It's going to be a great time."
Japan's premiere funk orchestra, Osaka Monaurail will make their way to the Gold Coast dressed in their sharp suits performing their synchronised routines with a powerful horn section.
2022 Blues On Broadbeach will also witness the fierce power of Blue Empress All-Stars – an all-star group with more than 120 awards between them.
Fronted by seven Blues sisters: Fiona Boyes, Anna Scionti, Cara Robinson, Leesa Gentz, Julz Parker, Alison Penney, and Sweet Felicia, they are joined by Hammond B3 and sax maestro Tim Neal, and drummer-percussionist Mark Grunden.
"With Blue Empress All-Stars, we've curated a rare collaboration," begins Fiona Boyes.
"We've put together a group of award-winning, remarkable women, all of whom are respected band leaders in their own right.
"That's one of the truly exciting things about playing a major festival like Blues On Broadbeach – the opportunity to put together a special act, something you just can't see every day."
From out West arrives Matty T Wall with his band pumping out gritty, stomping dirty blues as well as sweet, sweet blues ballads.
Other new additions include Hussy Hicks, Minnie Marks, Frank Sultana, Mike Beale, Dom Turner & The Rural Blues Project, Sweet Felicia and the Honeytones and many more.
"We want to continue to bring our festival fans a collection of artists which celebrate all the different music styles in the blues genre as well as a few surprises," Festival Director, Mark Duckworth says.
"It is so important to us that we bring out not just the big names, but those artists that are true to the festival and represent the very best of what blues music has to offer.
"With our international borders finally open again, we're excited to welcome to our stages some truly incredible international artists and some unique performances which you won't see anywhere else and won't want to miss."
Blues On Broadbeach (Gold Coast) takes place 19-22 May. It's a free event.
