Blues On Broadbeach Add More Talent To 2023 Line-up Including Melbourne Ska Orchestra & Chris Cheney

Melbourne Ska Orchestra join the Blues On Broadbeach 2023 line-up.

With Tommy Emmanuel, Don Walker, and Emma Donovan & The Putbacks already on the line-up, Blues On Broadbeach have added even more talent to their 2023 event.

Staged in the heart of Broadbeach (Gold Coast) with stunning ocean backdrops, the 22nd Blues On Broadbeach also welcomes Australian funk-ska collective Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Chris Cheney (The Living End) who'll preview material from his debut solo album ('Storm Before The Calm' due in June) and American swamp-pop legend Tommy McLain who'll be joined by long-time collaborator C.C. Adcock.

Other international arrivals include Kiwi Americana trio Albi & The Wolves as well as Memphis own Marcus Scott (who replaces Don Bryant who's not able to travel to due to health reasons) joining forces with legendary soul outfit The Bo-Keys.

"Melbourne Ska Orchestra are super excited to share our ramshackle train of mayhem at Blues On Broadbeach this year," MSO frontman Nicky Bomba says.

"I've got great memories of performing there and seeing it's our 20th anniversary tour, it's going to be next-level fun! Put on your dancing feet and get down to the party. . . and you guys know how to party."

Adds Chris Cheney: "Guess I'd better brush up on my pentatonic! Chuffed to say I'm firing up the solo band and playing Blues On Broadbeach. Ripper!"

Then there's host of Australian acts booking flights to Broadbeach: WA blues-roots band Blue Shaddy, folk-grunge duo Little Georgia, the constantly touring 8 Ball Aitken, the rollicking blues of Victorian Julian James and the Moonshine State, Melbourne bluesman Ian Collard and Mike Elrington and South Australian blues-rock-folk singer-songwriter Mike Elrington.

"Hey blues loving, festival rockin' friends. I'll be playing Blues On Broadbeach alongside an incredible line-up," shares 8 Ball Aitken. "Blues On Broadbeach is one of my absolute all-time favourite Australian festivals and I'm so looking forward to it."

Staged across four blocks of the beachside precinct, Blues On Broadbeach (which is a free event) annually attracts tens of thousands of fans from near and far to head to the Gold Coast and feel the rhythm.

"Our festival has always been about the music and celebrating excellence in blues craftsmanship, and that is what we have become known for both by the artists who perform on our stages and by our audiences," Major Events Gold Coast Director of Festivals and Events, Mark Duckworth says.

Blues On Broadbeach (Gold Coast) takes place 18-21 May.
