It’s been five years since acclaimed UK indie-rock force Bloc Party hit our stages. Now, as well as a set of co-headline shows with Interpol, the group will embark on a set of headline shows this November.
Bloc Party will play shows in Perth, Adelaide and Hobart, cueing up hailed gems from their genre-bending catalogue. Fans will enjoy favourites from ‘Silent Alarm’, ‘A Weekend In The City’, ‘Intimacy’ and 2022’s ‘Alpha Games’. Not to mention Bloc Party have released two singles this year, ‘Keep It Rolling’ and ‘High Life’, from the group’s recently released ‘The High Life’ EP.
Bloc Party got their break back in 2003, when lead singer Kele Okereke gave a copy of their single ‘She’s Hearing Voices’ to Franz Ferdinand’s lead singer Alex Kapranos and BBC Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq. Steve played the track on his show, labelling it “genius”.
The band’s debit ‘Silent Alarm’ released in 2005, and went platinum. Almost two decades, and six albums worth of material later, fans will be spoilt for choice with favourites in live form, like ‘Banquet’, ‘Helicopter’, ‘This Modern Love’ and ‘Flux’.
Tickets are on sale 27 July at 9am.
