Two years after the release of their last studio album 'Hymns', and with not much else happening in their world since, Bloc Party will return to Australia this spring to perform their classic debut album 'Silent Alarm' (which NME labelled as 'one of the best albums of all time') in full.
With tickets to the European leg of the tour snapped up in a whirl of 'frenzied excitement' back in March, Bloc Party's singer Kele Okereke hinted in an interview he did recently with scenestr (for his solo autumn tour) that when the timing was right and everything aligned that anything can happen referencing a return of Bloc Party.
With the timing now right, many fans who thought the chance to see the English rockers live was diminishing with every passing year can now rejoice with Bloc Party announcing dates in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Alongside bands like Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party helped usher in a new-gen of English rock bands in the mid-noughties.
The band will play 'Silent Alarm' in its entirety featuring the single gems 'Helicopter', 'Banquet' and 'Positive Tension'.
General tickets go on sale 2 July from 10am local time. Click here for more information.
