Inspired by their 2021 AFL Grand Final performance with West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Australian rockers Birds Of Tokyo will team up with a host of state orchestras for a special run of concerts titled 'Birdsongs'.
Set to partner again with West Australian Symphony Orchestra, plus the Queensland, Tasmanian, Melbourne and Sydney symphony orchestras, the 'Birdsongs' tour will take place August-September this year. The seven-time winners of APRA's Rock Work Of The Year will reimagine such hits as 'Plans', 'Lanterns', 'Good Lord' and 'Anchor', alongside new songs. Acclaimed orchestrator, Nicholas Buc will conduct all dates.
"We are beyond excited to be working with Australia's finest musicians like this," Birds Of Tokyo's founding member, Adam Spark says. "It's like a dream come true for us and we can't wait to create something really special together.
"Performing some of the orchestrated songs at the 2021 AFL Grand Final with WASO was a truly memorable moment for us, and we can't wait to bring the full Birds Of Tokyo and symphony orchestra experience to our fans across Australia."
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 5 April.
