Grammy Award-winning bluegrass artist Billy Strings is headed to Australia for his debut live shows down under in 2025.
Strings will be promoting his newest album, 2024's 'Highway Prayers', which was produced by Strings and Jon Brion (Fiona Apple, Mac Miller), with headline concerts in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in July.Raised in a bluegrass family in Michigan, his step-father Terry Barber an accomplished amateur bluegrass musician, and now based in Nashville, 'Highway Prayers' became the first bluegrass album in 22 years to debuted at #1 on Billboard's all-genre Top Album Sales chart.
Also known for his Post Malone 2024 collab 'M-E-X-I-C-O', 2023 jam 'California Sober' with Willie Nelson and featuring on Luke Combs' 2021 track 'The Great Divide', Strings was awarded Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards for his sophomore album 'Home'.
Alongside the release of 'Highway Prayers' last year, Strings' released his first live album, 'Billy Strings Live Vol. 1', which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Bluegrass Albums chart and is nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards.
Strings' other awards include Artist Of The Year at the 2023 and 2022 Americana Music Awards, as well as Entertainer Of The Year at the 2023, 2022 and 2021 International Bluegrass Music Awards.
Alongside performing material from 'Highway Prayers', fans can expect a set list of hits including 'Dust In A Baggie', 'Away From The Mire', 'Taking Water' and 'Know It All'.
