"We recently hit the road for my new single, ‘Taste’, on the aptly named ‘Taste’ tour!
"We are not photographers by any means, so here’s what went down according to our dodgy smartphone photos and Insta videos."

Friday 11 August
I arrived at Brisbane airport from my home city of Sydney sans drummer because he had a gig on in Sydney till the afternoon. He will join me on a later flight. It was sunny and delightful.A quick pick up of the rental and the standard pack means only one thing…
A hair cut at The Emporium Barber right next to the Ekka, which is pretty much like the Royal Easter Show in Sydney so I was told.
My drummer Andy Mose arrives and assumes his rightful position as head-watcher of Netflix.
We get to Heya Bar in the Valley for soundcheck and Fragile Animals open proceedings.
We play our show to a very appreciative group of Brisbanites; it was great to see some good friends and family there. These are actual proper photos taken by Kerry Rowe, a photographer [Ed's note; Kerry also works in sales at scenestr; small world this Brisbane place]. Not like us cowboys. Thanks Kerry Rowe! Thanks Heya Bar and Brisbane!
Saturday 12 August
The next morning we pack the car really well.Which we were happy about.
Then Andy started being rude. I ate sushi.
We headed down to the Gold Coast to play at The NightQuarter.
We got to our lodgings and it was all it said it was… it was on the coast and gold too.
We get to the venue, set up and soundcheck.
We did our pre-game drills and stretches and got papped.
We played our show to a beautiful crowd at a now-favourite venue of ours!
Barefoot played after us and nailed it with their roots-reggae show. Thank you for lending us your backline legends! Thank you to everyone at the NightQuarter!
Sunday 13 August
We then get up the next morning for the drive up to the Sunshine Coast to play a little outdoors festival event called Peregian Originals. There were a bunch of other acts on the bill who were all brilliant.
A quick load in and set-up… that is Rob Bird in the middle, our sound tech for all our QLD shows. You smashed it lad!
We played our show to another receptive QLD audience.
So did the other acts.
But we had to get moving to get our flight back to Sydney.
We got our flight, bleary-eyed, yet highly satisfied with the last few days.
Our next stop was Melbourne the following week… which is another story altogether.
Home. What a tour, what a time and what a better way to finish off than with one of my crappy photos of the moon at my local, Manly.
Thanks to all involved. See everyone at a show soon.
