British indie folk, alt pop singer-songwriter Billie Marten returns to Australia in 2026.
Last here at the start of 2025 (including playing Beyond The Valley), this time the 'La Lune', 'Cursive', 'Mice' and 'Vanilla Baby' hitmaker will headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne next February.
This will be the first opportunity for local fans to hear live material from Marten's most recent album, 'Dog Eared', which she released in July.
The record witnessed Billie relinquish some control to embrace a full-bodied band sound as she teamed with producer Philip Weinrobe's (Adrienne Lenker) and ten musicians, who congregated in Philip's Brooklyn studio.
"This time exactly a year ago I was awash in the sweat and fervour of making this album in NYC. It's all down to my sweet friend and soft genius Philip Weinrobe and a plethora of outstanding musicians that formed the bed rock of 'Dog Eared'," Billie posted when the album dropped.
"I'd never been more energised, enthused or permeated with the pure feeling of what 'making' is all about. This record came out of nowhere, and I'm so proud and equally in awe of what we all contributed to make segments into a whole.
"I had the most enlightening month being out there, out here, amongst such vibrance and brilliance. I met some of my heroes (Diane Cluck, I keep your set list in my laptop case at all times) and was continually inspired by the art of live performance.
"I read Thoreau's 'On Man And Nature', and I dove straight into a process I was entirely unprepared for, which I can honestly say is the superior way to do things. It gets harder and harder to make stuff nowadays, and we simply must push against that. Question nothing, and remain entirely present. Rely on others, expect nothing."
Tickets on sale from 12pm AEDT on 14 October.
