Thank you Billie Eilish for delivering the soulful jam 2020 needed.
The 'Bad Guy' singer has today dropped the deliciously raw piano ballad 'My Future' that bounces into a charming pop melody midstream. It's like she's blended the sounds of Amy, Dusty and Christina with her own, self-assured lyrical boldness and undeniable musical talent (the 5 Grammys earlier this year is just the start, folks) before adding a sprinkle of charm and a double dollop of fierceness.
"We wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine. It's a song that's really, really personal and special to me," Billie wrote in an email to fans.
"When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at – hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth.
"But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what's happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves."
Billie wrote and recorded 'My Future' in Los Angeles during lockdown; it was produced by her brother FINNEAS.
