Music lovers and industry alike, get ready to drool over the first round of 2018 BIGSOUND artists with a staggering 75 acts announced to perform at the 4-day music marathon in Brisbane 4-7 September.
The event, which brings together key industry figures and music fans from around the world to sample the best of tomorrow's hottest Australian acts welcomes an eclectic mix of artists and bands across a diverse range of genres.
Some of the highlights include Blank Realm, Butterfingers, Ella Hooper, Gabriella Cohen, Olympia, Slowly Slowly, Tape/Off, Riley Pearce, Ruby Gilbert, MANE, Oh Pep!, Moaning Lisa, Voiid, Paces and Greta Stanley. Scroll down to read the complete first-round announcement.
These 2018 artists will play in front of labels, publishers, agents, festival bookers and other industry heavyweights.
"The amount of BIGSOUND applications this year smashed last year's record by another 70 to make up approximately 1,133 applications. That's a lot of talent," BIGSOUND programmer Maggie Collins says.
"Punters wanting to own the fact that 'they discovered an artist first', better get themselves across this massive list of acts, who are on the cusp of exploding world-wide."

The Minister for Tourism Industry Development Kate Jones says BIGSOUND is a significant Australian music industry event, which showcased Brisbane as a growing arts and cultural events hub.
