BIGSOUND Add Fyre Festival's Andy King As Extra Keynote Address, Reveal Full 2019 Programme

Fyre Festival's Andy King added as extra Keynote Address at 2019 BIGSOUND.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The crowning glory for this year's BIGSOUND will be a keynote address by event producer Andy King, well-known for his involvement with the infamous Fyre Festival.

Andy earned his place in pop-culture history following the Netflix documentary 'Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened' in which he revealed just how dedicated he was to making the festival happen and became the poster-boy for 'going the extra mile'.

Outside of Fyre Festival, Andy has a long history of producing successful events and will give BIGSOUND audiences a valuable insight into the world of event promotion and why working for Billy McFarland, almost literally, sucked.

He joins fellow BIGSOUND keynote speakers Bethany Cosentino from Best Coast, music writer Vivien Goldman, Sahara Herald from Frontier Touring, recording artists Mojo Juju and Terry McBride from Nettwerk Music.

There is also a keynote featuring four First Nations voices to unpack cultural resurgence and working within a global settler-led music industry.

The full BIGSOUND 2019 conference programme includes another 70-plus speakers and buyers in attendance, including representatives from Spotify, ARIA, triple j, The Fader, Sony Music, Unified Music Group, Secret Service, X-Ray Touring, and more.

There's also a full raft of panels, forums, workshops, presentations and exhibitions that will dissect and explore the current state of the music industry and its future direction as well as discuss topics of key concern for musicians and bands.

As for live music, BIGSOUND 2019 offers up 150 bands and more than a dozen parties, including the first Indie Label Market on the last night featuring indie labels from around Australia presenting some of their releases before the final live showcase at Ric's Backyard.

Australia's biggest music industry gathering, BIGSOUND in 2019 brings together new and emerging artists with established acts and industry professionals in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley for four days of talks and tunes.

BIGSOUND 2019 takes place in the Fortitude Valley Live Music Precinct (Brisbane) 3-6 September.
