BIGSOUND 2022 Artist Line-up

After receiving more than 1,300 artist applications for their 21st birthday celebrations, BIGSOUND programmers have selected a record-number of 182 bands and artists to showcase at this year's event (6-9 September).

Australia's largest gathering of music industry and showcasing performers, BIGSOUND 2022 will be the first in-person staging of the event since 2019 and sees the number of artists-bands on stages this year increase by 38 compared to 2019.

Spread across 23 stages in 21 venues over 3 nights in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, BIGSOUND offers an expansive network of neighbouring music venues, forming a zig-zag, choose-your-own-adventure musical journey between intimate rooms to world class outdoor stages.

"Wow, what a ride! After spending a month reading and listening to a record number of applications, we are certain that the future of music is in safe hands," festival programmers Ruby-Jean McCabe and Dominic Miller stated.

"BIGSOUND Showcase programming is a dream job so we would never complain, but it's hard to put into words what a difficult time we had getting to this final line-up.

"The applications this year were of an extremely high calibre, and we could have easily programmed another 180-plus artists if we had the space. We can't wait for these artists to arrive in Fortitude Valley for BIGSOUND 2022 and for everyone else to see how special they are too."



Some of the highlights of the 2022 artist programme include Budjerah, flowerkid, Hope D, Mia Wray, Tasman Keith, Teenage Joans and The Terrys, while BIGSOUND is thrilled to also welcome a small contingent of artists from New Zealand: JessB, Soaked Oats, Troy Kingi, TE KAAHU, Church & AP, MELODOWNZ and Jenny Mitchell.

Keep scanning the line-up and you'll continually find plenty of talented acts from a wide range of genres. . . indie pop and garage rock, to hip hop and rap plus the heavy sounds of metal, hardcore, punk and heavy rock. Not forgetting all the colours of EDM and indietronica as well as singer-songwriters, R&B, shoegaze, country, Americana, jazz, soul, world music and so much more.

These acts include Adrian Dzvuke, Alter Boy, Andrew Swift, Andy Golledge, Aodhan, Asha Jefferies, Beckah Amani, Birdz, Bones and Jones, CLOE TERARE, CONCRETE SURFERS, Dallas Woods, dameeeela, DARLINGHURST, Death by Denim, Dulcie, Eilish Gilligan, Eliza Hull, Folk Bitch Trio, Future Static, Girl and Girl, Grace Cummings and Her Band, Great Sage, Grievous Bodily Calm, Hallie, Jem Cassar-Daley, LOSER, MALi JO$E, Noah Dillon, Old Mervs, Siobhan Cotchin, Teenage Dads, The Buckleys, VOIID, WIIGZ, and Yb.
